Riyad Mahrez is Manchester City’s leading goalscorer this season with eight goals in 15 matches in all competitions.

Despite being ‘decisive’ for the English champions, the winger, however, doesn’t have a fixed place in Pep Guardiola’s starting XI. He has only two league starts and was left on the bench in the league ties against Liverpool and Manchester City.

Among the players at the Etihad with most minutes in the ongoing campaign, the 30-year-old currently stands outside top 10.

Guardiola has regularly changed his attackers this term, resulting in the Algerian and Raheem Sterling struggling for game time.

The current situation with the Citizens could see the ex-Leicester City star leave City in the winter market, according to an exclusive from Foot Mercato. The question, however, remains as to ‘who could welcome him’ in January.

It’s claimed Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have shown interest in the player. PSG ‘still appreciate his profile’.

Any potential operation will be made complicated due to the player’s participation at the AFCON, which is scheduled from January 9th to February 6th.

To sum it up, Mahrez could change clubs in the next window, but, at the moment, there seems to be no serious takers for him.
