Rasmus Hojlund’s performances this season have sparked speculation around his future at Manchester United.
Napoli have been linked with the striker and there has been talk that the Red Devils’ asking price could prove to be a major problem for Antonio Conte’s side.
Despite the Dane’s disappointing showings, more interest in Italy is now emerging for him.
Calciomercato’s Daniele Longo has reported that Juventus have decided to take ‘concrete steps’ for the Manchester United striker.
This decision was made after the Old Lady’s sporting director Cristiano Guintoli explored the possibility of the move and made initial contact for Hojlund. The Italian giants will take the first steps to concretely move for the Denmark international, who has experience of playing in Serie A during his time at Atalanta.
The report states that Juventus initially had an agreement in principle with the agent of Manchester United’s Joshua Zirkzee. But Ruben Amorim’s arrival at Old Trafford made sure that the Dutchman stayed.
It can be safely presumed from Longo’s report that Juve were encouraged to move for Hojlund after initial contact. Otherwise, they would not have made the decision to add him to their list of summer targets.
