Sabah report Aston Villa manager Dean Smith is keen to sign Besiktas defender Domagoj Vida, and has told the club’s board to bring in the player.
Smith’s side have found themselves in a relegation battle, and are looking to strengthen their defence by signing the former Dynamo Kyiv player.
The Turkish newspaper claims the Premier League will make an offer to land the 30 year old, and Besiktas are willing to part ways with the Croatian in order to raise some funds ahead of the January transfer window.
This latest claim backs up reports earlier this week that Aston Villa are interested in Vida, but Sabah now add Besiktas will accept an offer in the region of €10m.
The Turkish side are in deep financial crisis, which their president Ahmet Nur Cebi confirmed last week. In order to strengthen their squad, Besiktas have to sell some of their players and Vida could leave the Süper Lig club because of this.
Vida’s contract with Besiktas will expire at the end of June 2022.
