Juventus signed Lloyd Kelly from Newcastle United late in the winter transfer window.
While the defender joined initially on loan, Juve had the obligation to buy him permanently at the end of the season if conditions were met.
Il Bianconero have looked at the future of the centre-back and they are certain that Juventus have already signed Kelly permanently from Newcastle United, even if there is no certainty about their qualification for the Champions League.
The outlet claim that the obligation to buy him permanently depended only on the number of appearances the Englishman was going to make for the Old Lady. As a result, the obligation to buy has now been triggered and even though the announcement is yet to be made, Kelly is virtually a Juventus player.
The initial loan cost stands at €3m and the obligation to buy is a fee of €14.3m. It will also include bonuses of €2.7m.
If Kelly meets certain sporting objectives, Newcastle United will also stand to earn a further bonus of €6.5m, which will make sure that the Magpies earn over €20m in the entire deal.
The numbers show that Eddie Howe’s side will benefit quite a bit, especially considering that the defender had joined them on a free transfer last summer.
