On August 1st, Calciomercato reported Sampdoria had rejected Brentford‘s first offer of €11m plus €7m bonuses to sign Mikkel Damsgaard.
It was also explained the Bees can convince the Serie A side by raising the fixed fee by around €2-3m.
Two days ago, Il Secolo XIX stated ‘everything is done and ready’ for the 22-year-old to make a switch to Brentford, but his agent is holding up the deal due to a clause inserted by the Bees.
Thomas Frank’s side want to reduce the player’s salary by 50% if they are relegated from the Premier League, but his representative is not ready to accept this.
TuttoMercatoWeb now state ‘deal done and defined’.
The attacking midfielder has found an agreement with Frank’s side and Sampdoria will receive a fee between €14m and €16m, including bonuses, for Damsgaard. TMW add the Denmark international’s ‘departure for London is expected’ on Sunday.
Over at Corriere dello Sport, they state Sampdoria will greet Damsgaard, who will be in England in the ‘next few hours’ to sign for Brentford.
The deal will see the Serie A side earn about €14m plus €6m bonuses.
TMW and Corriere’s reports would suggest the earlier issue about the agent obstructing Damsgaard’s move to Brentford seems to have been resolved now.
