Arsenal star Martin Odegaard is today featured in a big story in the Norwegian media, with TV2 having a long interview with him.
The outlet highlights the Gunners’ Champions League clash against Bayern Munich. They managed to follow the midfielder in the first leg of the quarter-finals at the Emirates Stadium, and now have this special piece ahead of the decisive game.
With many details about all movements made by Odegaard before, during and after the match, TV2 got some quotes from the Arsenal star. Some of the comments were about him having Konrad Laimer marking him very closely.
“I was marked as a man. I had a guy pretty close to me there today for large parts of the match. Then you have to deal with that too… I enjoy it.”
Even though Odegaard seemed happy with his performance, he pointed out Arsenal’s flaws in the first game, which allowed Bayern Munich to go home needing just a win to get a place in the quarter-finals.
“We gave away two fairly simple goals. We were not good enough to stop and kill their counter attacks. It is perhaps the greatest strength they have with the players they have on the edges where they speed up. We weren’t good enough there. It’s sad.”
Following the 2-2 draw at the Emirates Stadium, it’s time for Odegaard to step up in a huge match in Munich. For all those reading this story before the decisive game, it’s probably worth checking out TV2’s piece as not only is it an interesting read but it’s also got a great gallery of Odegaard pictures.
