Tiémoué Bakayoko to AC Milan has hit a bump in the road. After claims last week of an agreement being close with Chelsea, things are now back up in the air.
Milan have been looking to take the midfielder on loan for the coming season, with a buying clause at the end of the campaign. Whilst the Blues have been fine with that general idea, the transfer has hit problems when it comes down to the specific finances of the operation.
Corriere dello Sport report the move has reached a ‘deadlock’ and negotiations are in a ‘stalemate’ stage.
That’s seen Milan move on to other targets, with Wednesday’s edition of Corriere dello Sport reporting Boubakary Soumaré, Florentino Luis and Matias Vecino all all considered alternative options.
Corriere don’t offer any more on Milan’s pursuit of their other midfield targets, and it’s conceivable this is an attempt from the Serie A club to pressure Chelsea.
With the midfielder not in Frank Lampard’s plans, and Milan clearly keen, maybe the Rossoneri believe the fear of losing the deal entirely will give the Premier League club the nudge they need to bring the price down.
