Brighton & Hove Albion’s Julio Enciso has played less than 300 minutes in the Premier League this season.

Doubts have emerged about his future at the Amex but it was reported that the Seagulls will only loan the Paraguayan out if he signs a new deal. The clear indication was that the club want to have full control over Enciso’s fate and are not considering a January sale.

More has now emerged about the 20-year-old today. Journalist Dominik Schneider has reported, via what he’s presenting as an exclusive, that Enciso is refusing to sign a new deal with Fabian Hurzeler’s side right now.

Brighton want him to sign a new deal for a loan exit or would only sell him for €40m+.

The journalist describes the situation to be one of ‘deadlock’, as interest from the Bundesliga hasn’t quite progressed since clubs first showed interest in November.

Interest from Atalanta has also been reported in the past few days and there has also been talk of a potential offer from the Italian side.

Considering everything, there seems to be some pushing and pulling going on from Enciso’s side, and perhaps things will be clearer in a few days.
