It appears that David De Gea to Real Madrid is becoming a real thing again, and ABC in Spain explain the Manchester United goalkeeper isn’t going to mess around this time.

The Spanish media outlet explain the former Atlético starlet is intent on getting his transfer from Old Trafford to the Santiago Bernabeú this summer, because this is the perfect summer to do it.

He’s 26 years of age, is about to reach the best years of his career and only has two years left on his current deal with the Red Devils.

However, with no release clauses in England, De Gea knows the only way he is going to get his transfer is if he puts pressure on Manchester United and José Mourinho.

ABC explain the club and his manager need to accept the fact he wants to leave, and that Real Madrid are prepared to make the same offer they made in 2015 in order to convince the Premier League side to sell their star.

For all of this to happen, De Gea and Jorge Mendes are said to be waiting for the right moment to approach the subject with Manchester United, and there’s hope the super agent can convince his client and close friend Mourinho that letting the keeper leave for Madrid is the best thing to do.

Furthermore, ABC hint that James Rodriguez, also a Mendes client, could be used as a peace offering.

De Gea is said to have been offered a new contract by Manchester United, one that would keep him at Old Trafford until 2022, but the Spanish outlet state the player is yet to sign it, with the knowledge that doing so would prevent him from getting the move he so desires.

While they would rather keep David De Gea, the Red Devils are said to have targeted Tottenham’s Hugo Lloris as the alternative, were they to lose the Spaniard.

The goalkeeper’s girlfriend, Edurne, is also once again thrown into the mix, used by ABC as a reason why he would want to return to his home country, and they report Mendes will also use this as an argument to convince Manchester United to let him go.

Déjà vu, anyone?
