Chelsea are reportedly in talks to sign Thiago Silva from PSG. Tutto Mercato Web claims to have exclusive news on Thursday saying the defender was picked as the club’s new target and the negotiations are already ongoing.
The website says that the situation has been developing and the possibilities are concrete. The player is currently negotiating a new deal with PSG, as the French side try to block him from an exit.
But Antonio Conte is said to be pushing hard, which is only making things more difficult for the contract renewal. Chelsea have already signed David Luiz from PSG this summer, so it would be quite surprising if they managed to take one more central defender from the French club.
Silva joined PSG from Milan in 2012 for €42m, and now Transfermarkt values him at €16m.
The defender is back to the Brazilian national team after more than an year without being called up. He didn’t leave a very good impression in the last two international tournaments he took part in, and is now set to sit on the bench while Inter Milan’s Miranda and PSG’s Marquinhos will make the starting defensive duo.
