José Mourinho’s chase for Ivan Perisic has long been a thing in the Italian media. And now that the manager has confirmed he wanted to sign the winger, things should get hotter about a possible second try in these last weeks of the transfer window.

Newspaper Tuttosport has a story about the situation. As they write about Inter Milan’s Croatian players who have just played a World Cup final, they say that although no one seems to be close to paying for Marcelo Brozovic’s release clause, Manchester United are keen on pursuing Perisic.

The newspaper claims that the player’s agent Fali Ramadani was called to England so Manchester United could ask him about the conditions of a deal.

As the Red Devils negotiate, they are said to be holding Matteo Darmian so he can be used as a trick to break Inter Milan’s resistance.

Tuttosport says that Inter Milan continue to be reluctant to sell the Croatian international, and would consider his value to be €70m plus Matteo Darmian.

As many Manchester United fans find it strange that Darmian still hasn’t been sold after so many rumours, maybe it makes sense if the club are keeping him to use in a negotiation.
