NEC defender Dario Dumic has spoken to the Dutch media after the media linked him with Newcastle United. Dumic has been getting attention from other clubs this season and, along with Newcastle United, the 24-year-old has been linked with Dutch side Heerenveen.
Speaking to Omroep Gelderland, the Bosnian born Danish defender said he’s heard nothing about the interest from other clubs, and even though he’s happy at NEC he realises anything can happen in football. Dumic revealed his focus at the moment is on NEC and helping them consolidate their place in the Dutch top flight.
“I myself heard nothing. I want to stay here, but you never know what happens in football. Now I focus entirely on the situation here. We have to stay in the Eredivisie and we are fighting for it,” said Dumic when asked about the interest from other clubs including Newcastle United.
Dumic joined NEC in the summer from Brondby after an initial loan spell with the Dutch club last season. The central defender came through the Norwich City youth system, and has represented Denmark at all youth levels.
