Marca can’t seem to make their mind up over Mauricio Pochettino and Real Madrid and there’s a clear reason for that.

The Spanish newspaper seem really fond of the idea of Madrid appointing Tottenham’s manager but are aware how hard it would be.

Their Wednesday paper edition insisted that a move for Pochettino isn’t dead and that he remains at the top of the list, with talks with Daniel Levy planned.

But on Wednesday evening they’ve published an article which states the Argentine is moving further and further away from the Champions League winners.

It’s reiterated that even up until Wednesday morning there was some confidence a deal may be found, but since then Daniel Levy’s ‘words have been carried by the wind’ and reached the Bernabeu.

Those words? ‘Not for €100m’.

Madrid had been reluctant to consider paying a fee of around €50m, according to earlier claims, so this has dented any confidence that remained.

Despite all of that it’s still stated that Pochettino could manage Madrid at some stage in the future, there’s no hard feelings around him not trying to force his way out of Tottenham.
