This week, Giovani Lo Celso to Tottenham Hotspur has looked dead.

Very dead. The Seville media have been trying to continue the odd claim here and there, yet it’s been made very clear Tottenham won’t meet Betis’ asking price, and the Spanish side don’t want to come down too much from the €70/75m figure.

The last real development appeared to date back some weeks to when Tottenham sent officials to Seville and held a restaurant meeting with their opposite numbers from Betis.

Now, Marca have relaunched it, although it may be for reasons which suit Real Madrid, the club they cover most.

The Spanish newspaper reports that, according to their own information, Daniel Levy and Tottenham have ‘resumed negotiations’, after a deal looked very unlikely yesterday.

This benefits Madrid, because Marca believe Lo Celso could be a replacement for Christian Eriksen, who would in turn move to Manchester United, and make it easier for Paul Pogba to leave Old Trafford this summer.
