Harry Kane’s goalscoring heroics for England against Croatia at the weekend have pushed the Tottenham star back into the European media.

A draw between the two countries would have seen Spain qualify for the UEFA Nations League finals, so the winning goal especially caught the attention of the Spanish sport media.

That means Real Madrid claims, but this time it’s a Catalan newspaper explaining why a transfer is ‘impossible’ and why it remains a ‘forbidden dream’ for the club’s president Florentino Perez.

Sport pinpoint two issues, both of them pretty fundamental.

Harry Kane has ‘no intention’ of leaving Tottenham and the club has ‘no intention’ of selling him.

Daniel Levy is the barrier which is once again said to be in Perez’s way. The Spurs chief is described as a ‘tough and inflexible’ negotiator and a ‘hard nut to crack’.

Poor Perez is looking ‘desperately’ for a star goalscorer, following the exit of Cristiano Ronaldo and Kane is his ‘great goal’.

But, for Sport, there’s very little chance of this one ever getting off the ground.
