Norwich City have made an approach to sign Ralf Fährmann of Schalke, according to reports.
Sky Germany claims the newly promoted Premier League club’s manager Daniel Farke wants to bring the 30-year-old to England in the summer transfer window.
The English club’s boss has the services of Tim Krul, 34-year-old Michael McGovern and 21-year-old Aston Oxborough as the three goalkeepers at his disposal.
Earlier this month, the former Newcastle United custodian signed a new deal at the club, meaning for Fährmann to join Norwich, one of McGovern or Oxborough must be allowed to leave the club.
Farke relied on Krul last season and he wants to further strengthen the position by bringing in Fährmann.
The reports states it’s not clear if the Schalke goalkeeper will accept the offer from the Canaries. He signed a new contract with the Bundesliga side in June 2018 and the shot stopper’s current deal runs out in 2022.
The report goes on to suggest Fährmann will have a tough time competing with 22-year-old Alexander Nübel for a place in the starting lineup at Schalke.
