Despite not having done great things for the national team, Daniel Alves is still much respected in Brazil. The career he’s made at Barcelona is acknowledged by every football fan, and the player himself became a well known character due to his personality.
Given all of that, his potential move to Manchester City or Chelsea is big news.
He was interviewed in an important TV Globo show this week, and there’s nothing more Dani Alves than entering the show singing with a band. With a chorus saying “I don’t want to get married, I’m going to the bar,” they played an entire song before the interview started.
Alves was sincere during the talk, and part of the interview was exclusively about Juventus. First, journalist Pedro Bial commented that Massimo Allegri had confirmed the player left the club of his own will, and Alves said: “I do not even know what’s happening. You’re giving me this news first hand. When I got out of there, I left my people sorting everything.”
Alves said a few words in Spanish, and when he commented he was learning English as well, he was questioned if it’s in order to play for Manchester City. He replied: “I learn English because it is necessary. Everyone knows my admiration for Pep. If that happens, it will be a huge pleasure. If I had something, I would say it. You know I have no problems with it.”
The Brazilian is clearly keen to sign for Manchester City. He likes Pep Guardiola, he’s a fullback, he’s a free agent… Guardiola needs fullbacks. The pieces slot together.
