It’s not been a great week or so for Leeds United.

A disappointing defeat to Sheffield United at the weekend has been added to with news Tyler Roberts is out of action for the foreseeable future.

Having not played a minute since signing from West Brom, Roberts has a crack in his shin and Leeds’ medical team is working to find out how long he’ll be out of action for, but it doesn’t sound like a brief thing.

A bit of brighter luck comes from Spain, where Yosuke Ideguchi has been struggling to get enough minutes for Cultural Leonesa. The Japanese international has had four substitute appearances for Cultural so far, of 10, 45, 1 and 8 minutes.

He needs to start a match to show what he can do and subsequently have a chance of helping Leeds United in the longer term. AS report Mario Oritz is suspended having picked up his fifth booking of the season in the match against SD Huesca.

The Spanish newspaper believe it will be Ideguchi who takes his place for the match on Sunday against Rayo Vallecano. Leeds United’s loanee is the ‘natural alternative’, and expected to start.

That’s a little good news, although it could all turn worrying if he’s overlooked.
