Bayern Munich are open to selling defender Omar Richards to Nottingham Forest this summer, despite having planned to keep him for one more year.

That’s according to Sky Sports Germany, who say the newly-promoted Premier League side are working ‘intensively’ on a deal.

Earlier today, we covered a tweet from Sky journalist Florian Plettenburg that stated Nottingham Forest were keen on Richards and working to get a deal over the line with Bayern.

Sky now follow that up, reorting that Bayern are ‘willing’ to let the 24-year-old leave this summer if they receive a ‘suitable transfer fee’.

He still has a deal until 2025 after signing from Reading last year, and Bayern had originally planned to keep the 24-year for another season.

However, faced with the prospect of bringing in extra millions from a transfer, they’ve now changed that stance.

If they were to received €10-12m, they would be happy to do a deal as it is income they ‘would be loath to forego’ given Richards arrived on a free.

Whether Nottingham Forest are willing to pay that figure isn’t mentioned, but talks are underway with Bayern nonetheless.

Steve Cooper’s side will also have to convince Richards on the move, with it made clear he has not yet agreed to make it. A further round of talks is planned to change that, though.
