Crystal Palace and Wolverhampton Wanderers are set to travel for some friendlies during the World Cup break.
The information comes from Italy, where journalist Carlo Alvino brings Napoli’s schedule in Turkey next month. He claims the list of games is ‘almost defined’.
It’s said the Serie A side will face Crystal Palace, Wolves and Antalyaspor. Although it’s very likely they’ll all play each other, that isn’t made clear yet.
All those games are set to happen in November and December, when the European leagues will take a break due to the World Cup in Qatar.
Crystal Palace and Wolves have four more games each before the break. Those are three Premier League fixtures and a round of the League Cup. Games then stop after the second week of November and domestic football will return on Boxing Day.
Even though all attention will be going to the World Cup, most clubs will have the majority of their squad still available to play. So a few mid-season friendlies to keep the players in shape will end up being needed for all of them.
