According to claims in the Italian media Crystal Palace and West Bromwich Albion are showing an interest in Fiorentina forward Khouma Babacar. During the last window Crystal Palace reportedly made an attempt to sign the Viola star.
TMW have reported Crystal Palace and West Brom are keen on signing Babacar this summer, but a deal at this stage is unlikely. The 24-year-old returned to form last season with Fiorentina, and it’s looking likely he wouldn’t entertain a move to the Premier League in this window.
However, Babacar’s situation could change at Fiorentina if the Serie A side sign Genoa’s Giovanni Simeone before the transfer deadline. This would put the Senegalese striker’s future at the club in doubt, and still gives Crystal Palace and West Brom some hope.
During the last window we covered reports from Italy that Crystal Palace tabled a bid in the region of €10m to sign the Babacar. Crystal Palace had previously been linked with the player in last summer window, before they signed Christian Benteke from Liverpool.
However, despite claims from Babacar’s agent that the player turned down a move to Crystal Palace it was reported at the time it was his club who rejected the Premier League side’s bid.
