Even though Crystal Palace haven’t been involved in a lot of deals with Portuguese clubs in the past years, they’re still one of the Premier League sides who like to keep an eye in the country.

As reported by newspaper A Bola today, their latest visit was on Tuesday night, when club scouts watched the cup game between Porto and Varzim.

With Varzim being a second division side, it was up to Porto to do their job and get a home win. The Dragons didn’t disappoint their fanbase, and got the qualification following a 2-1 score.

Porto’s goals were scored by Tiquinho Soares and Ivan Marcano, while Hugo Gomes scored the one fo the away side.

Since Porto didn’t use their full force for this match, A Bola says the scouts had the opportunity to evaluate the potential from some players who aren’t regularly selected.

Scouts from Manchester United, Blackburn Rovers, Eintracht Frankfurt, Strasbourg and Heerenveen also all attended the game.
