Maxence Lacroix’s drawn out move to Crystal Palace may be about to finally happen, with both sides about to meet in the middle.
That’s according to Kicker, who report that Crystal Palace and VfL Wolfsburg have now found a ‘breakthrough’ after weeks of negotiations.
They report that the path seems clear for the defender, with the 24-year-old Frenchman on his way to Crystal Palace.
According to Kicker’s information, the two clubs agreed on a deal on Wednesday. The transfer will be valued at €18m, plus €3m in bonuses. In terms of the numbers, a compromise was reached, with the two sides agreeing to meet in the middle.
According to English sources, negotiations picked up speed during the night between Monday and Tuesday and now they’ve finally reached an agreement on a transfer. Lacroix will sign a contract until 2028 plus the option of an extra year.
The transfer is now progressing towards being concluded before the end of the window this week and Wolfsburg are already planning to sign a replacement. That’s a further hint that the deal with Crystal Palace is done.
