Crystal Palace are continuing to plan for upcoming transfer windows and on Saturday evening they sent an official to the match between Rio Ave and Chaves.

The Premier League club have been in Portugal repeatedly recently and it’s clear they’re taking a closer look at players in Liga Nos, probably with the intention of trying to find a cheaper market for signings.

Crystal Palace aren’t the only ones with this intention and despite the match, which Rio Ave won 1-0, being fairly low-key, the club were joined by others including Borussia Dortmund, Empoli, Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, Galatasaray and both the Manchester clubs.

There’s clearly someone catching the eye, or perhaps an agent pushing clubs to take a close look at a specific player.

The report comes from A Bola, and the Portuguese newspaper doesn’t indicate who Crystal Palace or the other clubs are watching specifically.

Over the past few months the English side have been mainly watching FC Porto when it comes to their scouting in the country.
