Premier League side Crystal Palace sent scouts to the Portuguese league match between Porto and Feirense last Sunday, according to local newspaper A Bola.

It was a game of big importance for Porto, as they had to win to keep themselves on top of the table. And they did, with a 2-0 score, and goals by Felipe and Moussa Marega.

Now despite a good overall performance from the likes of Iker Casillas, Jesús Corona and Yacine Brahimi, it was really midfielder Óliver Torres who stood out. The Spaniard had the chance to replace Hector Herrera, who’s an important player for Porto, but had no problem in taking such responsibility and managed to run the show.

For the away side, goalkeeper Caio Secco had a good performance, and right winger Edson Farias was also praised by the local press.

This game also attracted scouts from Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United, Atletico Madrid, Betis, Celta Vigo, Girona, Deportivo La Coruña, Empoli, Udinese, Atalanta, Saint Etienne, Toulouse, Nice, Bordeaux, Monaco, Borussia Dortmund, Eintracht Frankfurt, Legia Warsaw, Ferencvaros and Maccabi Telavive.

Crystal Palace have scouted Porto repeatedly this season, leading to links with Hector Herrera, but there hasn’t been anything especially concrete in that regard.
