Marseille skipper Steve Mandanda is reportedly close to signing for Crystal Palace, according to the reports in the French media.
Thursday’s edition of L’Equipe says Crystal Palace yesterday negotiated the final few elements of the contract.
It is also reported doctors from Crystal Palace travelled to Clairefontaine, France’s national team training centre, to conduct medical examinations of Mandanda yesterday.
L’Equipe, initially reported Palace have agreed to pay a fee of €3m to Marseille, but now they report the fee is around €2m.
The transfer of Mandanda to Palace is only a matter of hours away, say the French newspaper.
Everton were also reportedly interested in signing the French international, and were strongly linked to him in the past few months. Reports on Wednesday said they’d made their own offer to try and steal Mandanda away.
On Wednesday evening Premier League champions Leicester City were also linked with a move for the player, which didn’t make a great deal of sense.
