Crystal Palace are the latest club to be linked with a move for former Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri. The Italian has also been linked with the vacant Sunderland job, following the resignation of David Moyes.
Despite leading Crystal Palace to safety, Sam Allardyce yesterday confirmed he would be stepping down after just five months with the Premier League side. This has led to speculation over who will replace the former England boss, and according to claims in Italy, Ranieri is in the frame.
Ranieri has been without a job since being dismissed by Leicester City earlier this year, and it’s expected he’ll return to football in the summer.
There’s a possibility the 65-year-old could be lined up for a job in the Premier League with reports Sunderland are considering him. However, Crystal Palace will feel they have an advantage over Sunderland given they avoided relegation, and subsequently can offer Ranieri a return to the top flight.
However, it must be noted these links are coming from Italy, and it very likely more speculation presented as fact.
