Crystal Palace could be set to step on Wolfsburg’s toes with a move for Rennes forward Paul-Georges Ntep, report French newspaper L’Equipe.
Bundesliga club Wolfsburg have been hoping to sign Ntep during the current transfer window, as they start to spend the money received from PSG for Julian Draxler.
Ntep has been repeatedly linked with moves to England, even since before he signed for Rennes. L’Equipe point out that QPR were also very keen previously, but weren’t quite able to get Ntep to make the switch to Loftus Road.
It’s stated by the French newspaper that Crystal Palace see Ntep as a ‘real opportunity’ in the January market, but they face a problem because the 24 year old has a slight preference for the Bundesliga.
Sam Allardyce will be looking to improve his Crystal Palace squad during the January transfer window.
If the Ntep interest is coming from Allardyce then he’ll be hopeful the club can have more luck than QPR did.
