Speaking to FootMercato last weekend, Youssouf Mulumbu made it very clear that, if he had a choice, a transfer to Marseille was his priority.

Of course, it’s all well and good what a player wants, but if the two clubs don’t come to an agreement over the transfer, nothing happens.

The Ligue 1 club are looking for another defensive midfielder before the start of the season, and the former West Brom star is on the list of potential players capable of filling that role.

The 29-year-old struggled at Norwich last season, and there was even talk of the Championship club cutting his contract with them short so he could move to Marseille on a free to simplify things.

This hasn’t happened yet, and according to the same website, FootMercato, the French side aren’t the only club interested in the Congo international.

FM claim as an exclusive that Crystal Palace have recently enquired about Mulumbu, meaning that if Marseille want to have a chance of signing him, they’re going to have to speed things up.
