After spending seven years in Anderlecht’s youth system, Jason Lokilo joined Crystal Palace in 2015. The winger spent two seasons with the Eagles’ academy before making his way into the first team at the start of the last season.
Lokilo made his first team debut in Palace’s 2-1 victory over Ipswich Town in the EFL Cup in August 2017. He played the full 90 minutes and that has been the only appearance for the Premier League club’s senior team.
However, the Belgium-born Congolese U20 international has been a star player for Crystal Palace’s U23s. Lokilo scored 10 goals and registered 12 assists in 23 league games last season.
According to L’Equipe, the 19-year-old is attracting interest from second division French clubs. Auxerre, Brest, AS Nancy and FC Lorient are looking at the option of landing the teenager in the summer transfer window.
The report claims all four French clubs want to sign Palace’s Lokilo only on a loan deal.
A temporary move will help Lokilo get regular playing time in the first team, which he looks unlikely to achieve at Crystal Palace next season.
