After a turbulent summer that saw him heavily linked with a move to Everton, Wilfried Zaha has yet to really do anything of note for Crystal Palace this season.

Featuring in every single on of their games, the forward has yet to assist or score for the Premier League side, but that didn’t stop him from being called up to the Ivory Coast squad for the international break.

Expected to feature against Bénin on Friday, Zaha won’t actually take part in the fixture, as Kamara Ibrahim, his manager, announced the player would miss the game due to ‘personal problems’ (via Abidjan Show).

That’s as far as the details go for now, but his absence will be felt, especially with the likes of Jean-Philippe Gbamin, Nicolas Pépé and Serey Dié absent through injury.

Since deciding to play for Ivory Coast, the Crystal Palace forward has represented the African country nine times, scoring twice, with both goals coming in the Africa Cup of Nations against Namibia and Mali.
