Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta is set for a court battle with his former agent over outstanding payments owed to the latter.
That’s according to SportBILD, who have learned that the Crystal Palace man is being sued for the sum of €35,000.
They explain that Mateta, who has been on loan at Crystal Palace since January, is in a ‘legal dispute’ with his former agent Pierre-Henri Bovis after the latter claimed unpaid fees.
According to their information, Bovis worked for Mateta until Autumn 2020 and is claiming ‘outstanding payments’ of €25,000.
He’s filed a lawsuit with the Parisian bar association, which have agreed with his claims, and including taxes and other duties, raised the money owed to €35,000.
Mateta appealed this, and the case is now set to be heard by an ordinary court at some point in February.
It’s the latest in a growing list of legal disputes that the Crystal Palace striker has been caught up in, including hit and run accidents and unauthorised dog keeping.
Neither party wanted to comment on this issue when approached by SportBILD, but we’re sure we’ll be hearing more of it in the coming months.
