Crystal Palace could make a late move to sign Udinese goalkeeper Marco Silvestri.

Udinese manager Kosta Runjaić has favoured Maduka Okoye in both the league and the cup competition this season. Therefore, the Serie A side have been working to sell Silvestri before the window shuts later today.

That’s according to journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, who claims Cagliari have shown interest in Silvestri. They aren’t alone as Crystal Palace could now joined the battle.

Di Marzio says the Eagles have carried out first contacts, without specifying it was with the player, Udinese or both. Either way, Oliver Glasner’s side will have to act quickly as there’s only a few hours left in this window.

He adds the 33-year-old ‘is leaving’ Udinese and it’ll be interesting to see where he’ll end up next.

Earlier today, Sam Johnstone left the Premier League side and completed a permanent move to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

This leaves Glasner with Dean Henderson and Remi Matthews as the recognised stoppers, with youngster Louie Moulden as the third choice.

If Crystal Palace were to sign Silvestri today, he could compete with Matthews to become the second-choice goalkeeper at Selhurst Park this season.
