Crystal Palace aren’t one of the Premier League clubs who scout Portuguese football the most, but they occasionally have an official attend matches in the country.
Friday night was one of those occasions and Crystal Palace had someone window shopping as Porto beat Arouca 4-0.
A Bola have published the list of clubs who had officials at the match and Crystal Palace are one of two English sides to attend. The other club to have someone there was Manchester United, who watch several Portuguese matches every single week.
Other clubs to spy on Porto last night include Juventus, Borussia Dortmund, Monaco, Sevilla and Real Betis.
There’s no indication from A Bola as to who Crystal Palace were watching and several of Porto’s players will already be out of Sam Allardyce’s price range.
Yacine Brahimi had a good match for Porto and has recently changed agents, with suggestions he’s set for a move to the Premier League, but his price would be way in excess of €20m.
