Besiktas forward Cenk Tosun has told the Turkish media he would be interested playing in England, flirting with the idea, but being respectful to his club.

The Turkey international has again been linked with a move to Crystal Palace and Newcastle United in the past week, after the two Premier League sides tabled bids for the player in the last window.

Sabah have reported on comments Tosun made when he was quizzed about the recent interest from England, including Crystal Palace and Newcastle United: “I am happy at Besiktas because I am a boy from Besiktas and I don’t want to go because there is more work to do here. I would like to play football in England one day if this benefits my club.

“I just want to concentrate on the success of Besiktas right now, because we have the Champions League and league in front of us.”

During the last window we covered reports from Turkey that Crystal Palace and Newcastle United tabled bids for Tosun, but were unsuccessful in their attempts to bring the player to England.

Newcastle United were reported to have offered Beskitas £8m, whilst Crystal Palace were willing to pay £10m.

Crystal Palace came in with an improved bid of £12.5m on deadline day, but the Turkish side were unwilling to sell because they couldn’t find a replacement in time.

There have recent reports Crystal Palace and Newcastle United have rekindled their interest in Tosun.

Palace won’t want to miss out again should they make another attempt.
