Crystal Palace full-back Patrick van Aanholt is the ‘first name’ on Galatasaray’s list of potential targets this summer.

That’s according to Sabah Spor, who say the 30-year-old has been offered a three-year deal worth €1.75m a year to make the move to the Super Lig.

They explain that Van Aanholt is out of contract at Crystal Palace in the summer, and that has led Galatasaray to pursue a move, with coach Fatih Terim keen to make ‘radical changes’ to his team.

He wants the left-back position to ‘change completely’ and has targeted Van Aanholt as one of several they are looking at for the position.

According to Sabah’s information, he is the first name on the list, and the potential transfer has ‘reached the final stage’.

They state that a transfer fee ‘will not be paid’, which is obvious as he’ll be a free agent, but it’s made clear nonetheless.

The tone is very much one that Galatasaray will get Van Aanholt this summer, once his contract with Crystal Palace comes to an end.

Whether that actually happens remains to be seen, but the belief in Turkey, at least, is that the whole thing is practically a done deal.
