On January 30th, claims from Turkey stated Bright Osayi-Samuel had rejected contract talks with Fenerbahçe to join Crystal Palace in the summer window.
The Nigeria international’s contract lasts until the end of this season and there’s been no progress in renewal negotiations.
Fast forward to March and Africa Foot reiterate Crystal Palace’s desire to sign the right-back on a free transfer.
Contract negotiations between the 27-year-old and the Turkish club have collapsed due to a disagreement over salary. This has seen the player’s camp look for options and the Eagles are one of them.
In fact, the former Queens Park Rangers man has ‘entered into discussions’ with Crystal Palace over a potential move. The Premier League club are said to have offered him a four-year contract.
The fullback is represented by Triple S Sports and a source close to the agency spoke to Africa Foot about Crystal Palace’s interest. They also stated the Nigerian would be interested in joining the London club if Fenerbahçe were to end contract negotiations.
“It is unlikely that Osayi-Samuel will stay in Turkey, as Fenerbahçe does not seem willing to offer him a salary increase,” a source said.
“His entourage is already listening to offers, and Crystal Palace have shown real interest. The London club is offering him a four-year contract with an annual salary of €4.5m. The negotiations are still at an early stage, but they are progressing positively.”
On Wednesday, Turkey’s Takvim explained Nottingham Forest have made a serious offer. They also mentioned the pre-contract agreement is in place with the player.
There’s no mention of Nottingham Forest or any other club apart from Crystal Palace in Africa Foot’s report.
