Former Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri yesterday held talks with FC Nantes over their vacant managerial position.  The Italian has been without a job since leaving the Foxes earlier this year, and he’s also been linked with a move to Crystal Palace in recent weeks.

L’Equipe have confirmed Ranieri held talks with Nantes president Waldemar Kita with regards to managing again in France. The 65-year-old previously had a spell with AS Monaco, and a return to Ligue 1 is an option.

Nantes have been without a manager since the departure of Sergio Conceicao, and Vita has told the French media a deal is possible to land Ranieri.

L’Equipe have confirmed two Premier League clubs are interested in Ranieri following reports last month Crystal Palace were interested in the former Chelsea man.

The Eagles could offer Ranieri a quick return to the Premier League, and, whilst it often doesn’t mean anything, bookmakers made the Italian one of the favourites to take over at Selhurst Park.

Crystal Palace have been without a manager since Sam Allardyce resigned from the role in May.
