Earlier today we covered reports from Belgium that Crystal Palace and Leicester City have made bids for Anderlecht defender Kara Mbodji.
The two Premier League sides want to get a deal done before the deadline, but they may have to wait until the summer to land the Senegal international.
Voetbal Nieuws have reported the prospect of Crystal Palace and Leicester City getting a deal done for Mbodji in this transfer window is now looking unlikely.
Anderlecht are keen to keep the player at the club at least until the end of the season, and have offered the central defender a salary increase as compensation.
However, Anderlecht have promised Mbodji a move in the summer transfer window, when he could finally achieve his dream of playing in the Premier League.
This morning we reported Crystal Palace had offered Anderlecht €12m for Mbodji, but the Belgian side are holding out for €15m. Leicester City have also failed with two bids for the layer, with the highest offered being in the region of €10m.
HLN also claim that Crystal Palace have even ‘completely drafted a contract’ for personal terms, so as to save time if Anderlecht accept an offer.
