Portuguese side Benfica seem to be preparing the sale of Carlos Vinícius this summer, as local newspapers today report that the striker’s exit is being negotiated with Eintracht Frankfurt.
Now as outlet A Bola writes about how close the striker is to leaving the Eagles, they also list the clubs who’ve been interested in his signing, and Crystal Palace is one of them.
It’s said that the Selhurst Park side are one of those who ‘left the scene’, along with the likes of Besiktas and Grêmio. The reason why they all gave up isn’t revealed.
That’s why Carlos Vinícius currently has two options, Eintracht Frankfurt and Nice, with the Bundesliga club leading the race to sign him on loan with an option to buy for over €20m.
The most interesting aspect is that Crystal Palace haven’t been strongly linked to Carlos Vinícius this summer, and this is the first time we read about their interest.
The club were actually said to be following the striker back last year. They were one of the sides in a battle which was won by Tottenham Hotspur.
Carlos Vinícius spent one season with Spurs, where he had 10 goals and three assists in 22 appearances. The club chose not to go for his permanent signing and he went back to Benfica.
