Crystal Palace are showing an interest in Napoli forward Leonardo Pavoletti.

The forward has in the past been linked with a move to England, following Leeds United’s attempts to land the player in 2015.

According to TMW, Crystal Palace are looking to Serie A to recruit a forward before the window closes. One option is Napoli’s Pavoletti, who may be surplus to requirements with the Italian club. The player only joined Napoli from Genoa in January, but he’s struggled to make an impact since his arrival in Naples.

Throughout this summer Pavoletti has been linked with a move away from Napoli, and Crystal Palace are the latest club to show an interest. The Premier League side have also been linked with Chievo Verona’s Roberto Inglese, and Bologna’s Mattia Destro, although neither seemed especially strong.

During Nicola Salerno’s time at Leeds United we covered reports from Italy that Pavoletti held talks with Massimo Cellino over a possible move to the Championship side.

The discussions were centred around the forward finding out more about the club, and also getting to know the Leeds United owner more.

At the time it was claimed there was a real possibility of Pavoletti arriving at Elland Road, but he took the decision to head to Genoa from Sassuolo.
