It’s now time for the Brazilian press to report Crystal Palace’s chase for Inter Milan owned striker Gabriel Barbosa.
After the rumours which came from Italy, journalist Jorge Nicola now claims to have confirmed the story, saying the London side are in touch for his signing. The information was brought by people ‘close to the player’.
His report on Yahoo says both Crystal Palace and Schalke 04 have ‘opened talks’ with Inter Milan. They’ve both shown they can pay something around €30m.
Gabigol is having a great season on loan at Flamengo, where he’s scored 33 goals in 45 games so far. The club are on top of the league table and disputing the Copa Libertadores semifinals.
Flamengo want to buy him permanently from Inter Milan, and are in a rush since his loan expires in December, at the end of the Brazilian season.
They have no conditions to compete with European sides. The figures of €30m would practically leave them out of the race.
That’s why we keep wondering if all these rumours aren’t a play from Inter Milan, who are pushing for the Brazilian club to raise their offer as much as possible.
