On Wednesday we covered a report from Portugal which explained the current status of Marcus Edwards.

Crystal Palace were said to be the club who have shown genuine interest recently, with claims about a return to Tottenham Hotspur somewhat talked down.

Earlier this summer it had been reported Edwards wasn’t so keen on a move to the Eagles, but with Sporting now looking to sell him, and there not exactly being a queue of clubs at the door, Crystal Palace looks a very tempting opportunity.

Thursday’s edition of A Bola makes it clear Sporting are keen to sell the 25-year-old this summer, so much so they’re already preparing his replacement.

That will come at no cost, with 17-year-old Geovany Quenda potentially being promoted to the first team and already training under Ruben Amorim.

Sporting are said to want €25-30m for Edwards, with Tottenham getting 35% of the deal. That may be an optimistic price point and Crystal Palace should likely go in lower for the right-winger.
