Former Crystal Palace forward Marouane Chamakh has been linked with a move to Vicenza. The Morocco international is currently a free agent, and therefore can sign for a club outside the window.

TMW have reported Vicenza are keen to bring in a forward, and are looking at players currently without a club. The Venetian club are in danger of getting dragged into a relegation fight, and are therefore looking at the possibility of bringing in the Crystal Palace flop to help them avoid the drop to Lega Pro.

A move for Chamakh by the Serie B club is ambitious, and it could come down to being able to afford his wages.

Chamakh spent three seasons at Crystal Palace after signing for the Premier League side from Arsenal in 2013. During that period the 33-year-old made just sixty appearances for Palace, scoring seven goals.

Crystal Palace released Chamakh last summer, and besides a brief spell with Cardiff City he’s been a free agent ever since. There’s not an awful lot of options open for Chamakh which could make Vicenza more attractive than they would have previously been.
