Mexican goalkeeper Luis Ángel Malagón is a potential target for Crystal Palace this summer, as a replacement for Matt Turner.
That’s according to Nacion Futbol, who report that Crystal Palace remain a potential destination for the goalkeeper this summer.
They explain that Malagón has long made it clear that he would like to move to Europe at some point in his career.
Fortunately for him he has sparked interest from clubs there, with Crystal Palace having a longstanding interest in him. Reports in December stated they had started negotiations for him but not made an official offer.
That interest could be revived this summer as Crystal Palace look destined to lose Matt Turner, who is the current back up to Dean Henderson in Oliver Glasner’s squad.
Everything seems to indicate that he will depart as his contract ends in June and there are no signs that the Eagles will renew him. That would leave them looking for a replacement and Malagón would be a name on their list.
They might face competition, though, as PSV Eindhoven are also keen and are very close to losing current number one Walter Benitez. Sunderland are also interested as they look to strengthen following their return to the Premier League.
It’s a situation that needs to develop, but Crystal Palace are seen as a name to keep an eye on in the potential race for Malagón’s signature.
