Ahead of the January transfer window, Crystal Palace were credited with an interest in Soualiho Meïté. The midfielder is owned by Lille but is spending this season on loan at Belgian club Zulte Waregem.
Zulte Waregem have an option to buy Meïté for just €300k, and it was claimed Crystal Palace made a ‘concrete’ approach for the player.
It’s not just Zulte Waregem who Crystal Palace are keeping an eye on in Belgium, with HLN reporting, via Voetbal Krant, the club will have a scout watch Gent on Thursday evening.
Gent are welcoming Tottenham in the Europa League and it would give Palace the chance to see players from the Belgian side against a level of opposition higher than they usually face domestically.
Crystal Palace have also been linked to Gent players in recent years, with Laurent Depoitre said to be a target for the club before he signed for Porto in the last summer transfer window.
