Crystal Palace are reportedly one of the clubs in the race for FC Porto winger Pepê.
With the Portuguese media today talking about interest from Premier League sides in the Dragons’ starlet, the Selhurst Park club shows up as one of the contenders.
The mention of Crystal Palace is brought by newspaper A Bola, who says that Patrick Vieira’s side have already ‘collected information’ about the player.
As you can see in the screenshot attached below, however, the story is mostly focused on Arsenal interest in the player. So in case the Eagles are really interested, they could face tough competition for the signing.
The Premier League race for Pepê is also reported by newspaper Record, who claims the ‘top clubs’ in England are currently preparing a bid for the Brazilian. The outlet, however, doesn’t name the sides who are chasing him.
It’s claimed that the winger is protected by a release clause worth €70m. Porto are even willing to let him go for less, demanding €60m. The problem is that English clubs value him at €50m.
Those stories make it clear that Crystal Palace wouldn’t have an easy task to land Pepê this summer, both for the competition he’s been drawing as for the price tag he has. Now since they got hold of this information, we shall wait and see if the club will keep moving for the signing.
