There’s been mixed messages coming from Denmark over the past two days around Crystal Palace and Alexander Sorloth.
On Tuesday Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet reported crystal Palace had made a second offer for the player, which was stated as being worth a total of €10m.
Made up of €5m in a straight fee and a further €5m in bonuses, FC Midtjylland were said to have rejected the approach because they weren’t happy that so much of the offer wasn’t secured.
Today it’s a little different.
Ekstra Bladet say FC Midtjylland are looking for 112m Danish Krone, and that works out to be €13.2m. At this stage of the window the Danish club are looking for an offer they can’t say no to.
There’s no explanation of what percentage of that could be bonus payments, which is what had been stated as the problem yesterday, rather than the headline amount.
Another confusing aspect is Crystal Palace’s first offer being put at €10m, which Ekstra Bladet say is 75m Danish Krone.
Well, it’s not.
75m Danish Krone is actually €8.8m, not a big difference in percentages, but significant enough when discussing a last minute transfer.
In conclusion, other than wanting ‘more money’ we’re not entirely sure what make up of a deal FC Midtjylland are looking for.
Good luck Palace.
