Crystal Palace and Norwich City are joined by AS Roma in the race for Thomas Delaney, according to Bild.

The midfielder’s current deal at Borussia Dortmund runs down in 2022 and it’s not clear what his plans are for the future.

Roma have identified the 29-year-old as their new target after failing to take Granit Xhaka away from Arsenal.

Delaney’s form for Denmark at the Euros has ‘aroused interest’ from other sides, including the Eagles and the newly promoted Premier League club.

The appreciation for the player is ‘so great’ that BVB ‘would not put any obstacles’ in the way of his departure, if he asks the Bundesliga side to let him leave the club in this window. Borussia Dortmund are ready to let the Dane leave for a fee around €10m, which sounds rather cheap.

When talking about suitors, the two Premier League sides are mentioned. It’s claimed that in addition to Roma, Palace and Norwich working ‘intensively’ to sign Delaney.

After managing only 14 league starts last season, Delaney’s aware the competition is tough for a place in the starting lineup. In the event he decides to continue with the German club, Bild state he should extend his contract.

Palace and Norwich will provide competition to José Mourinho’s side, if Delaney decides to look for a new club this summer.
