With Roy Hodgson now 73 years of age, it’s fair to say his career as a manager is nearing its end.
His contract at Crystal Palace ties him to Selhurst Park until the end of the current campaign, with many believing he will leave after that.
That’s why we’ve seen a few names be mentioned to replace him over the past few months, with claims from Italy the Premier League club had reached out to AS Roma manager Paulo Fonseca in recent weeks.
Well, now it’s Sinisa Mihajlovic’s turn to be sent to London, with Il Resto del Carlino reporting on the claims the Serbian manager could be one of two favourites for the role alongside the currently unemployed Patrick Vieira.
They explain the latter makes more sense since he’s currently free to choose where he goes next, before reminding their readers this isn’t the first time Crystal Palace have targeted the Bologna man.
Il Resto del Carlino explain the English side ‘had already thought about him a couple of years ago’, and it’s made clear that Mihajlovic is ‘not thinking about a top club’ for now, clearly happy with his role in Italy.
Something to keep in mind as Hodgson’s time at Selhurst Park seems to draw to a close.
